azlan Pakatan Rakyat failed to retain the Balik Pulau parliamentary seat in Penang in the 13th general election because PKR picked a "not-so-suitable candidate", said Chief Minister Lim Guan Eng.

"We should have won the seat.

"I hope PKR will (not make such mistakes in future)," he told a forum themed 'What's next after 505?' at the Kuala Lumpur and Selangor Chinese Assembly Hall yesterday.

He was answering a question from the floor.

The state PKR had fielded Muhammad Bakhtiar Wan Chik, replacing the incumbent MP Yusmadi Yusof.

Umno’s Hilmi Yahaya won with a majority of 1,539 votes, and went on to be appointed deputy health minister in the federal cabinet.
