DAP's Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng has proposed to refer Deputy Federal Territories Minister Loga Bala Mohan to the rights and privileges committee for "misleading" the House over the assessment hike implementation date for Kuala Lumpur.
DAP's Segambut MP Lim Lip Eng has proposed to refer Deputy Federal Territories Minister Loga Bala Mohan to the rights and privileges committee for "misleading" the House over the assessment hike implementation date for Kuala Lumpur.
Loga Bala (

But Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor was reported to have said this morning that the hike will proceed to come into effect on Jan 1, 2014.
Speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia said that he would seek an explanation from the ministry and decide on the matter on Monday next week, the next day of Parliament sitting.
In a press conference later, Lim (

“Both the minister and deputy minister should shut up and let the mayor make statements about the assessment hike,” Lim said.
Cheras MP Tan Kok Wai, who was also at the press conference, said that the deputy minister did not only mislead the House, but also misled the people with his statement in the House yesterday.
Meanwhile, when approached later, Loga Bala denied that he and his minister were giving contradicting statements.
“There is no contradiction, I said we will stop until we hear the appeals,” he told reporters at the Parliament lobby.
“The assessment rate will be in place but we will not enforce it until we hear the appeals. The penalty fees will be waived,” he said.
“Rates will be issued but the people can still appeal to it. The new rates will be affective (from Jan 1), but the implementation will be decided after March,” he added.
