Man claiming to be Malacca sultan remanded
The police have secured a court order to remand an individual by the name of Noor Jan Tuah for four days from today to assist in the investigation into his claim to being the sultan of Malacca.
The police have secured a court order to remand an individual by the name of Noor Jan Tuah for four days from today to assist in the investigation into his claim to being the sultan of Malacca.
The order was issued by the assistant registrar of the subordinate courts, V Kanasan, to enable the police to conduct their probe under the Sedition Act.
Noor Jan, 57, was detained at 10.50am yesterday at the Anjung Batu Jetty in Umbai, Jasin, as he was about to board a boat headed for Pulau Besar for an event with his ‘followers’.
