Not only Taib, but Sarawak BN must go

YOURSAY ‘This is a golden opportunity for Sarawakians to make a change.’

With Taib's exit, SUPP eyes return of Chinese vote

Headhunter: SUPP is naive and daydreaming. The reason SUPP lost is more than just Sarawak Chief Minister Abdul Taib Mahmud’s corruption and iron grip of the state. Are they saying that SUPP leaders were not corrupt and had never taken a share of Taib's loot?

Sarawakians are sick and tired of the BN because of Umno's influence with their bigotry and racist policies and their unrestrained plundering of the nation's wealth.

If SUPP wants to regain some of their former glory, they must be man enough to leave the BN and side with the opposition to form a new government. Staying put with the BN will not see them getting support from Sarawakians and could sound the death knell for the party.

And the present line-up of quarrelsome old men at the helm have to go too. The next state election will prove that.

Leongan: SUPP is like MCA, "suap habis, habislah". Have they ever argued in cabinet or government for the people that they are claiming representation?

The people have been used as their “capital” in political gambling. And when they lose, it is the people who have to bear the losses, when they gain, it is solely theirs to claim.

Voting Public: Taib has caused too much damage, which is already cancerous and the only way out is to remove BN from the state and set up a new government.

The people have feared for too long under the leadership of one person who has held too much power. The people must speak for change in Sarawak and for the whole of Malaysia.

Malaysian Lover : In fact, this is a golden opportunity for Sarawakians to make a change. If Sarawakians still support the present government, they are blind. They will forever be slaves to this corrupt and racist government.

Hopefully Sarawakians will wake up this time.

Anonymous #25558299: The uneducated Sarawakians should be made themselves educated, particularly in matters of being striped of their lands, their livelihood, rights as Sarawakians, and to know that only the cronies of Taib get rich and wealthy, and live luxurious and glamorous life for years.

Whatsup: Let's pray that the various communities, including those who have profited handsomely, will wake up and say enough is enough of seeing their state destroyed while some are enriching themselves by the billions.

Adsertor: Indeed, expect the next state election to be the last nail in the coffin for SUPP.

Gov't to make firms liable for corrupt employees

Headhunter: How about corrupt politicians and civil servants? Shouldn't their bosses also be made responsible for their involvement in corruption?

The private sector is not the major culprit right now. Corrupt politicians and civil servants are the ones who caused this nation to bleed billions each year.

If the government is serious, overhaul the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) and let it report direct to the cabinet, not the PM. Anything less is just a show to pull wool over our eyes.

LifeFlier: This is the most Integrity Minister Paul Low can do - instead of tackling the rampant corruption involving public government funds, he picks on private sectors.

If Low is having toothache and a heart attack at the same time, he sure choose to look into curing his toothache first.

Moontime: In Malaysia, the principle of demand and supply applies. If there's no demand for bribes from the government, companies won't supply it. Simple.

Want to tackle corruption? Prosecute the big wigs/sharks/invincible ones first, then we know you mean business.

Ksn: This proposed law is a little confusing. How can companies stop individuals from being corrupt?

Is it being said that employees using company funds for corruption for the benefit of the company will be prosecuted? If that is the case both the individuals and the companies would be prosecuted together.

Geronimo: Low, where is your sense of priority? Why train the barrel at employees when you should be training it at the corrupt politicians in the government.

We want our pound of flesh and nothing will satisfy the rakyat more than to see PM Najib Razak and his gang hauled up by you. Short of this, please stop wasting our time and taxpayers’ money.

Apa Ini: There are plenty of laws already in place. It's the people who carry out the law that need first to to be made to observe the law.

When there's little or no respect for the ruling party, lawmakers, judiciary, the attorney-general, the police, no amount of amendments to the law or MACC will make a spot of difference.

Bluemountains: It is really a waste of everybody's time if the relevant authority cannot do anything with Umno's classification of corruption as money politics.

What about the payment of commission for the purchase of submarines? Commission is not corruption only in Bolehland.

Intheair: Who is the biggest employer in Malaysia? The government.
