Isma bent on waging war against infidels

YOURSAY 'Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia, who are the infidels you are referring to?’

Isma: Don't let 'infidels' decide on hudud

Anonymous_1397678952: The statement from Malaysian Muslim Solidarity (Isma) is precisely why we cannot allow the hudud to be implemented. It speaks of the Islamic state agenda and of not allowing the 'infidels' to frustrate it.

It cannot be the thinking of one group of Malaysians that those outside the group are infidels not meriting any respect or recognition because that is how God intended it. Of course, these people will say that is exactly how God decreed it.

I am no expert on the Quran but I have read enough eminent Muslims say that that is not the true position. But that is how some think.

It would be dangerous for this country to alter its secular status given this kind of thinking. It would put us on the slippery slope to disaster.

Cogito Ergo Sum: It’s a rather sad day when 40 percent of the population is branded 'infidels.' I am afraid a lot of 'infidels' have made this nation great in the past. At that time, they just known as 'fellow' Malaysians.

Today, they are termed ‘infidels’ and ‘pendatang’. When will you bigots grow up to realise that our neighbours have overtaken us and are praying (probably to their idols) that we carry on in this divisive manner?

Awakened: Isma, who are the infidels you are referring to?

If you think that in a multiracial and multireligious country like Malaysia, you can have two separate legal systems for Muslims and non-Muslims, then why don't we have two systems for every aspects of life from tax systems, education systems and separate budgets for non-Muslims and Muslims.

If you think that it is ‘haram’ for Muslims to use the tax money collected from the infidels, then propose to have taxes used separately.

It is as though the country is not divided far and deep enough between bumiputera and non-bumiputera, are you suggesting to divide Malaysians further by having two legal systems between Muslims and non-Muslims?

Anonymous_1397678952: We infidels are citizens of this country. The constitution is as much ours as it is the Muslims.

We have the vote. And we are entitled to use it when any amendment is involved. There may come a time when our vote may become irrelevant. But not now, yet.

Can we speak on the issue? Of course we can. Anything that changes the fundamental character of our society is of concern to us. Anything that threatens religious freedom concerns us.

And another point: under our religious belief - in our Holy Book - we are not infidels. We are guaranteed a place in heaven or move to a better place - depending on our thoughts and actions in our lives.

If we are good and observe God's law, we will be all right. If we are evil and steal and kill, we will be punished by God.

Under our Holy Book, we must be good to everyone no matter what his or her religious beliefs, including Muslims. We do not have God's permission to harm someone whose beliefs are not the same as ours.

Swot Strategist: Infidel is defined as a person who does not believe in a religion that someone regards as the true religion. So, Isma president Abdullah Zaik, you are an infidel to the Christians but they are taught to love you.

Religion is personal matter between you and your god. Do you understand what is the meaning of "personal"? As non-believers of your Allah, we do respect your right. But you have trampled the realm of other beliefs when your religion moves into public domain and got institutionalised.

Religious bigots like some deviant imams and clerics of Islam used to declare ‘jihad’ (holy war) against the infidels of the world and, that by killing an infidel, which is a command to all Muslims, they are assured of a place in heaven.

Think very carefully - would you rather have your Allah, who tells you to ‘do evil things’ to infidels in order for you to go to heaven, or my Jesus who tells me to love you because I am going to heaven and He wants you to be there with me?

Onyourtoes: As an infidel, I am asking PAS to table the hudud bill and Umno to support it.  Why wait further? Do it now. Let the world see the absurdity of this nincompoop country.

Let the world see how easy it is for the nincompoops to talk about inflicting maximum pain when carrying out punishment, amputating limbs to instil fear and performing public execution to deter similar and future crimes, et cetera.

Let the world see how the nincompoops are caught in the time warp of the Stone Age. Let the world see how these “holier than thou” idiots can talk so effortlessly on issues that are so profound and far reaching without a blink.

Quigonbond: Instead of relying on the anal discussion of who has the right to discuss the issue, for goodness sake will folks from Isma and elsewhere start laying out their arguments about hudud, give empirical comparison statistics, philosophical basis, etc?

In this day and age, they can't just expect people to tow the line, not especially over an issue that will change the very structure of our secular constitution. And then they must be prepared for counter arguments, or worse, get pummeled.

And the to and fro between the supporters and detractors should be allowed full airing in our mass media. It's the least they and the government can do.

It's not about Umno listening to what PAS can offer, but for PAS, Umno, Isma, Perkasa, Perkema, etc, to engage with one another and with the society at large.

I have no doubt that majority Malaysians will not support hudud, but there should be a very public airing of views of this issue instead of keeping it under wraps.

Anonymous_1371477558: Quigonbond, I fully agree with your proposal of a public airing of views. But in this country, would a non-Muslim like you dare to say what you think in public on this subject? You'll be stoned to death if you tried.

Unafraid: So non-Muslims are called infidels. What kind of religion is this that looks down and despise those who do not subscribe to their beliefs? Why is it that those who oppose hudud are considered overstepping their bounds?

These idiots are suggesting that hudud is already a done thing and anyone who opposes it is not acceptable. Who do these religious extremists think they are?

Anonymous_1389080833: These fanatics say outrageous things to offend non-Muslims. The powers-that-be stand aside and allow this to go on unabated. The non-Muslims overreact.

The moderate Muslims reading the non-Muslim's overreaction view this as Malay Muslim bashing. The Malay Muslims counter react and it spins out of control.

The country becomes divided and racial tension is heightened. Siege mentality prevails. The powers-that-be succeed in perpetuating their reason for existence.

Well Thats Fantastic: I am a Muslim and I say no to hudud!
