TELUK INTAN The selection of 27-year-old Dyana Sofya Mohd Daud, political secretary to Gelang Patah MP Lim Kit Siang, to contest in the upcoming Teluk Intan by-election is seen as a ploy to deceive the voters, especially Malay voters in the constituency.

Umno information chief Ahmad Maslan said voters in Teluk Intan should not be fooled by the opposition's tactic of fielding a Malay candidate for the area as they had never done this before.

"DAP has not only chosen a Malay candidate for the by-election, but also a greenhorn and who has contributed nothing to the people of Teluk Intan.

"I am confident Barisan Nasional (BN) has the edge as it will be fielding Mah Siew Keong who was Teluk Intan MP before for two terms, has a wealth of experience and has contributed to the area.

"There are more Chinese voters in Teluk Intan, so BN's choice of Mah for the by-election is most apt."

Ahmad (above) said this after launching the Jerantut Umno division's Information, New Media and IT Bureau at the Jerantut District Council Hall today.

Also present were Jerantut member of parliament Ahmad Nazlan Idris and Pulau Tawar assemblyman Ahmad Shukri Ismail.

Ahmad said the concept of Malaysian Malaysia promoted by DAP by fielding a Malay and woman candidate for an election had long been practised by BN.
