More than 400 Johor based non-governmental organisations have stood firm in support of the controversial Johor Housing and Property Board Bill 2014, Malay daily Sinar Harian reported today.
More than 400 Johor based non-governmental organisations have stood firm in support of the controversial Johor Housing and Property Board Bill 2014, Malay daily Sinar Harian reported today.
State Malay group coordination council secretary-general Mohd Isa Baba Ali Khan said the formation of the board is seen as a mechanism to safeguard Johor's interests in terms of housing and property from being manipulated.
“The Bill takes into consideration the executive power of a constitutional monarchy and the sultan's power is not in conflict with the executive power. This follows there is a separation between the powers of the menteri besar and the sultan,” Sinar Harian quotes Mohd Isa as saying.
“The same principle is used now, where the executive can propose and advise. After it is scrutinised, it is then presented for the sultan's consent.”
Meanwhile, the economic officer of the Johor Malays Small Industries Business Zaini Atan said leaders who are outside Johor should not to come out with conflicting statements that could confuse the people.
“We, the people of Johor who stay here, understand the Bill which is being brought by Menteri Besar Khaled Nordin,” Zaini is quoted as saying by Sinar Harian .
