Decapitation uttered in the name of religion

YOURSAY ‘This beautiful religion I embrace is being desecrated by ultra bigots...’

'We'll chop off heads of those who insult Islam'

Thequest: "It is better they get lost, better they die, better they don't live in this country than be a disease, a virus and a parasite on our religion, race and country," said Perkasa information chief Ruslan Kassim.

Are they speaking about themselves?

Cry, My Beloved Country: I guess that the illustrious home minister and his IGP (inspector-general of police), as well as the prime minister who practices deafening silence within the country but speaks fervently and passionately about moderation when on a foreign platform - all these three illustrious personalities did not hear the open threat from the Perkasa leader to take it upon himself to commit murder.

I suppose distancing themselves and the government publicly from a threat such as this would not be politically expedient, neither would it bring in the necessary extremist vote. Bigots must have their day.

Ratbatblue: The overwhelming majority of Malays are decent, peace-loving people just like the rest of us. They don’t have any serious issues with the other Malaysians.

However, there will always be lunatic fringe groups like the one making incendiary statements above.

As there is no other viable bone of contention to pick with the non-Malays to further their racist agenda as they (as in Malays) control almost every aspect of life in Malaysia, the only way to propagate their manifesto of hate is to harp on religious issues and respect for the Malay royalty/sultanates.

These two issues are bound to cause unhappiness amongst all in some ways as they are wont to ruffle feathers. So these racists have found the most suitable formula to further their cause.

And with no checks by the relevant authorities, weak leadership and some say a "shut one eye" policy, these groups have gained strong traction as the country slides down the slippery slope of mayhem.

Cheong Sai Fah: These words come from the mouth of Perkasa's information chief: "Perkasa regards the action of the four (PAS) MPs as rude, uncouth and discourteous in the context of Malay culture, what more it touched on the role and power of the Malay ruler as head of the Islam.”

I thought those adjectives (rude, uncouth and discourteous) described his speech nicely.

Mamadias: Ruslan Kassim, you are an idiot and embarrassment to your race, religion and the country.

By the way, I am Muslim. I remember you were once an Anwar Ibrahim’s joker and now you are the joker for Perkasa. You will just jump on any bandwagon that gives you publicity.

Casey: I was intrigued with the meaning of the word 'munafiq', hence I looked up and found this. It says, "In Islam, a munafiq is a hypocrite who outwardly practices Islam, while inwardly concealing his disbelief, perhaps even unknowingly.

“The Quran has hundreds of verses discussing munafiqun (plural), referring to them as more dangerous to Muslims than the worst non-Muslim enemies of Islam.

“According to the Persian Muslim scholar, Sahih al-Bukhari: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) said, "The signs of a hypocrite are three: (1) Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie; (2) Whenever he promises, he always breaks it; and (3) If you trust him, he proves to be dishonest."

And as narrated by Abdullah Ibn Amr ibn al-'As, a companion of the Prophet (peace be upon him): "Whoever has the following four characteristics will be a pure hypocrite and whoever has one of the following four characteristics will have one characteristic of hypocrisy unless and until he gives it up:

“(1) Whenever he is entrusted, he betrays; (2) Whenever he speaks, he tells a lie; (3) Whenever he makes a covenant, he proves treacherous; and (4) Whenever he quarrels, he behaves in a very imprudent, evil and insulting manner."

It's not difficult to conclude who're these bigots, who go around threatening fellow humans and betray their good religion.

For The Body Of Christ: Our Lord teaches us Christians to love our enemies. In order to change the situation, let us not react to evil with evil. We need to be wise as serpents yet innocent like doves.

Only when we change our responses and not act like Perkasa, do we reflect the love and sacrifice of our Lord and Saviour in our lives. As Christians, let us pray for God to show mercy and grace to those who hate us.

Gunner: This happens when PM Najib Najib refuses to do anything and IGP (inspector-general of police) blatantly defies the rule of law. Some people say no one is above the law but right here in Malaysia, there are plenty of people who are above the law.

Imraz Ikhbal: Islam is such a blissful and peaceful religion but to my dismay, this beautiful religion I embrace is being desecrated daily by ultra bigots who self-proclaim to champion Islam.

I can perceive no greater insult to Islam than to make the world hate Islam and I couldn't agree more with Perkasa. Bigots like them who ridicule Islam should indeed have their heads chopped off.

Fair Play: According to our esteemed home minister, threatening to slap someone's is not a crime until the offence is committed. So these Perkasa drones know that 'right' and might are on their side.

So, right-thinking rakyat, don't get all worked up because no action would be taken against them.

Ipohcrite: Perkasa is now taking the law into its own hands against those who oppose their actions. That's what we get when the police don't do their job properly.

Perkasa is now truly a law unto itself. So to Malaysians, be afraid. Be very afraid.

Anonymous_1388029052: Uttering "celaka" in the Penang state legislative assembly is seditious but "chopping off the heads" of those who insult Islam is not? What is our country turning into?

When royalty is invoked to propagate hatred
