PKR tightens noose on a recalcitrant Khalid

YOURSAY ‘Khalid has indeed gone past the point of no return.’

Bring on MACC, Khalid dares PKR

Kim Quek: Dear Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim, challenging people to report you to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) wouldn’t alleviate suspicion against you, but a clear and credible explanation would.

You have already been in politics for a number of years, so you should know fully well that in the eyes of the public, MACC is a fully discredited institution that does the bidding of Umno.

So by going to MACC, you convey the impression that you are seeking refuge under an Umno outfit.

On the hand, an innocent man would have jumped at the opportunity to disclose the full facts so as to exonerate himself. But you didn’t take that course.

Sorry to say that you have just made a self-incriminating move that has further worsened your position in this crisis.

Bluemountains: If Khalid is clean, he should have nothing to fear. Just let the voters know why Bank Islam which took him to court over a nearly RM70 million loan have decided to settle out-of-court with him.

He cannot say that it is a private matter and refuse to disclose any information about the deal. He must prove to the voters beyond a shadow of doubt that he had not compromised his position as MB of Selangor in this out-of-court settlement.

He must also explain why he had not accepted the best offer in the tender exercise for the state land in Kota Kemuning but instead asked the one with the lowest offer to top up.

The people of Selangor will certainly fight hard to retain him as MB if he can explain the above issues to their satisfaction.

Axolotl: Khalid has gone past the point of no return. Such a stubborn desire to cling ferociously to power despite losing the support of his own party suggests that he has too much to lose once out of power - the same dilemma faced by most Umno-BN ministers.

LAWofKarma: Khalid, I am your strong supporter until recently. I hope you can save yourself some dignity by just respecting the rule of game and the workings of the parliamentary system and resign gracefully.

I am ashamed to read your claim that you would continue to serve as menteri besar with the "fullest commitment to transparency, accountability and good governance".

Khalid, can you just tell us what transparency, accountability and good governance you practise in your decision and approval for Kidex (Kinrara–Damansara Expressway) and the signing of the water deal?

I felt like being cheated by you, having supported you in the past.

ONG: I believe it is imperative that PKR and DAP, without any more delay give a ultimatum to PAS that it (PAS) supports PKR and DAP in passing a motion of no confidence against Khalid.

If PAS still insists on supporting Khalid, PKR and DAP should immediately end the three-party coalition. Better to risk losing the state government than to look like a bunch of clowns.

The arrogance with which Khalid thumbs his nose and defy his party, with every new day he continues as Selangor MB, he makes the leadership of PKR and Pakatan look more and more stupid and impotent. It's better to lose and retain whatever dignity is still left.

SSDhaliwal: Khalid, if your reason for sticking to the MB's position is that you are being ousted unfairly by your colleagues and that you have the support of the people, you are sadly mistaken.

You have lost the support of the people and the party, so stepping down gracefully is the gentlemanly thing to do just like how former PM Abdullah Ahmad Badawi had stepped down.

By you clinging to the post, you are tearing your party apart, the very people who put you there in the first place.

Lionking: What is wrong with you, Khalid? Why hang on when they want to replace you. This is terrible.

CEOs of companies are replaced when they do not perform and they do not hang on to their posts. You very well know how corporations work and your position is no different than that of a CEO.

Have a little respect for yourself and stop spitting into the sky.

The Mask: Instead of asking to show proof to the allegations, he issued challenges. No need to report him to the MACC, This is an internal matter.

Sack him now. Better to lose creditability now and have three or more years left to rebuild it (before GE14).

Abasir: MACC? Even if a report is made, will it get the go ahead from the puppet masters to investigate? Has Khalid forgotten the fate of the Project IC royal commission (RC) report and Lingam-Fairuz judicial fixing RC recommendations?

Why does he not simply hold a press conference to categorically state the facts as he knows them to be or alternatively file action against those impugning his integrity?

Doesn't he believe in putting the facts before the people and let them ultimately judge and act accordingly? People first, remember?

Khalid sullies his legacy with insubordination
