Youth wings: Pakatan elders can solve crisis

Habib RAK: Issuing an ultimatum upfront seldom results in a win-win solution. Each party has its point of view in this matter. Most don’t know the actual details. Even those in the inner circle are making all kind of statements.

There is a way out of this quagmire. We all can agree that a change of guard is nothing new. Even the best leader gives way when the time comes. The problem in this succession planning is the method adopted.

The road map is riddled with elementary flaws. In negotiations, the parties must walk away feeling they all won. Or else, there will be retaliation and counter-retaliation, and pretty soon it will all make no sense - like what we are all witnessing now.

Thus this new initiative by Pakatan Rakyat Youth is welcomed. I hope it starts with no upfront precondition, including the need for Selangor Menteri Besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim to vacate his post. Assess all issues objectively and find the best way forward.

Then explain to the rakyat the rationale for the decision taken.

Jaguh: The action by the three Pakatan Youth wing leaders - PAS’ Suhaizan Kaiat, PKR’s Shamsul Iskandar Mohd Akin and DAP’s Teo Kok Seong - could be the way of the future.

All these issues are created by old timers, some hungry for power, some having personal agendas, but this united voice is telling them, the old timers, to buck up. Have a united stance to do what is necessary.

Kim Quek: What a pleasant surprise from our youth leaders, Your maturity and wisdom augurs well for the future, not only for Pakatan but for the entire country.

A heart-to-heart talk among these four elders - PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, DAP national adviser Lim Kit Siang and Khalid - may just be the kind of interaction that will lead to ironing out the differences and allowing good sense to prevail.

We have already come so close to our destination, why break up at this stage? So, Pakatan Youth, please expedite your plan.

Anonymous_4031c: What future? There is none for Pakatan. Its break-up is imminent. You will now have to drop PAS from the coalition and struggle to get support of the Malays.

Rajakera: What a breath of fresh air from Pakatan Youth. I fully support their suggestion. Everything comes to those who wait. There is no urgency in getting rid of the 'prodigal' MB. Time can solve that matter.

Just concentrate on winning the next general election, and winning with a BIG margin. A little margin will not do with the amount of 'slush funds' BN has. They could buy a few 'kataks' over. Quite a few of those who will sell their mothers for a few ringgi are around.

Keturunan Malaysia: PAS Youth chief Suhaizat, this is the second statement from you and both came across as mature.

If I may further add, it is a gem of a statement compared to the ones from others in your party. Stay on this good course, Suhaizan.

Retract lies or be sued, Guan Eng tells PAS MP

Multi Racial: BN and Umno have been given close to six decades to govern and what did we get?

1) Corruption rising. 2) Education standard dropping. 3) Lack of accountability and transparency. 4) Country more divided than before. 5) Brain drain. 6) Security getting worse. 7) Judiciary not seen as fair and likely to be unfair.

What happened to Pakatan is not good, but if you look deeper, we should be glad itis happening now. If they can't agree on the Selangor MB, how are they going to agree on the PM?

Pakatan is a new coalition and bound to have problems. PKR has too many former Umno members and many are still behaving like Umnoputras. Meanwhile, PAS has many religious and racial extremists.

But to choose between BN and Pakatan, Pakatan still wins hands down. This is not because Pakatan is excellent, it is because BN moderates like Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah and Saifuddin Abdullah are not doing well in Umno.

MinahBulat: Politics aside, Nasrudin Hassan in his serban is a holy man and a holy man does not lie (munafik). He is a PAS member and that makes him doubly holy.

Now Penang CM Lim Guan Eng calls him a liar and asks him to apologise. What is there to apologise for? If he apologises, he admits he is lying.

Guan Eng, you have to sue him and claim for damages.

Onyourtoes: The competition for and appeal to Malay parochial support has finally reached its grand finale. Well done, the scumbag politicians of this country.

The DNA of bigots and racists are the same, irrespective of the political parties they belong to. The people of Temerloh, you shall forever remember this MP whose ambition is much bigger than his puny brain.

Wsoi: A true Malaysian identity can only be formed by Pakatan as the federal government. This is the hope of all young Malaysians. It would probably happen better and faster without PAS.
