Selangor PAS has no intention to seek the menteri besar post, even though it has the most seats in the state legislative assembly, state commissioner Iskandar Ad Samad said.

He said that PAS is party to the consensus that the MB post is held by PKR.

“We have not discussed it (the issue of PAS taking the MB post) yet. We didn’t discuss it as the central committee decision on Aug 17 agreed that the MB will be from PKR,” he said when met at the Selangor secretariat building in Shah Alam today.

Iskandar (left) was commenting on USM political scientist P Sivamurugan, who said that PAS can propose Iskandar as MB.

Sivamurugan was quoted by Sinar Harian as saying that this is possible if the Selangor sultan rejects PKR replacement MB candidate Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.

Iskandar, a senior executive council (exco) members in MB Abdul Khalid Ibrahim’s administration, said that Selangor PAS will adhere to the central committee’s decision.
