'Hello, PKR did not ‘steal’ the two PAS reps'

YOURSAY ‘This fight over MB’s post is like toddlers fighting over a prized toy.’

PAS leader explains Hadi's bid to poach Azmin

SusahKes: If Abdul Hadi Awang read the support of the two PAS Aduns (state representatives) for Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as a betrayal by PKR, then it surely informs us just how small minded the PAS president is.

Here is the PAS president, at the highest level of Pakatan leadership, and instead of clarifying the situation with DSAI (PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim) or probing further, chose to react unilaterally and against his party central committee's decision.

So if Hadi felt that the two Aduns have betrayed him, how does he think the 52 percent of voting population which supported Pakatan Rakyat feel when he does one of the biggest about-turn in Malaysian politics?

Anyway, Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad, stop being an apologist for Hadi. He's a grown man, let him take responsibility for the break-up of PAS.

U-Say I-Say: The most likely scenario is that a particular PAS leader secretly had an audience with the Selangor sultan, made a promise to ensure that Khalid Ibrahim retains the MB position with the help of PAS but subsequently events in Pakatan put paid to the plan.

Embarrassed and humiliated, the leader strikes back and wreak havoc even at the expense of Pakatan and his own party. Hell hath no fury like a politician scorned.

Versey: To all right-thinking Malaysians, the two PAS state assemblypersons - Saari Sungip and Hasnul Bahauddin - have demonstrated to us what genuine pious Muslims ought to be, one who glorify the God they believe in and honour His teachings, not human beings.

They stood by principle, more discerning and decent, honourable and show due respect to their fellow Selangorians than those who are using silly excuses, thinking they can fool the rakyat.

Anonymous_4031c: Indeed, the two PAS assemblypersons should be credited in taking the necessary steps to keep Pakatan intact instead of allowing all sorts of unholy alliance and further manipulations from parties seeking to destroy the opposition coalition.

They had contained the ability of outside forces and those within PAS to manipulate the crisis to their advantage. In so far as governance is concerned, the record of PAS in Kedah, Kelantan and Terengganu speaks for itself and it will take a lot to shift the right-minded electorate to vote for them.

Looking at these holier than thou leaders in PAS, you do wonder what sort of principles they subscribe to and whether they can be believed any more.

Quigonbond: The reason given by Khalid Samad is pathetic. PKR and DAP both have a significant following of Malays in Selangor. What Malay wrath is Hadi Awang talking about?

Has he been brainwashed by Perkasa, Isma and Umno who have been constantly playing up Malay and Islamic supremacy? If anything, it indicates that he may have turned megalomaniacal.

Hello, is this the same Hadi Awang who came back from the hospital in Turkey?

Terjah: Khalid Samad, I see that you are changing tune now. The matter could have been solved if PAS just give the support to appoint whoever person nominated by PKR as MB of Selangor.

The matter became complicated because PAS was also eyeing the post, taking advantage of internal problem faced by PKR on the sacking of Khalid Ibrahim.

If PAS jointly support DAP and PKR from the beginning, this issue would not have come to this. PAS is not trustworthy and it will be rejected by all Malaysians in next GE.

Dr Jacob George: “So, Hadi thought of a reaction whereby if we were to be betrayed and they ‘steal’ our people, we ‘steal back’ their people. It was (done) in that context - it was not planned or premeditated,” said Khalid Samad.

What warped explanation - it’s devoid of accountable principles based on decency, decorum and integrity.

This is like toddlers fighting over a prized toy and not statesmen positioning to provide an alternative national leadership.

Aries46: Khalid Samad, don't degrade your reputation by assigning far fetched reasons for Hadi's dirty deals. It was PAS that double-crossed Pakatan by supporting MB Khalid Ibrahim in unison with Umno and this enabled Khalid to claim majority support in the House.

All indications pointed to a PAS-Umno unity regime with Khalid Ibrahim at the helm and the collapse of the Pakatan government. Only than did Saari and Hasnul throw in their support to rescue Pakatan.

And that in fact was the checkmate that scuttled Hadi's unity plans with Umno. The extremist group in PAS was caught with its pants down to the chagrin of its Umno counterpart.

This slap on the extremist faction and its embarrassment is what triggered the Azmin Ali caper - Hadi's desperate move to appease his Umno masters.

Thus your contention about 'you steal, so I steal' rational is without basis as it was Hadi himself who betrayed the Pakatan consensus on the 'Kajang move' to rid MB Khalid Ibrahim.

Khalid Samad, you have the faith and trust of the voters, don't throw it away by supporting traitors who betray Islam.

Anonymous_3faa: This is a simple case of accepting the majority decision as partners in a coalition. There is no necessity to give a convoluted explanation as to the whys and whatever.

The bare fact is that the electorates see PAS actions as a betrayal, and their continual presence is politically toxic to the coalition on GE14. =

Nothing that PAS do now can shift this negative perception of the party being insolent and cannot be trusted.

Hello: This proves the saying, "Oh, what a tangled web we weave. When first we practise to deceive."

Hadi Awang’s action in MBgate 'indefensible'
