The bright side of Kajang Move’s 'failure'
YOURSAY ‘The Kajang Move brings out the worst and the best.’
Asri: Kajang now stands for 'failure', not 'satay'
Maplesyrup: Whatever misgivings I have about the Kajang Move, I have since seen the need having observed outgoing Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim's tantrums.
Also, if PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim were not incapacitated by Umno's sodomy move, the present difficulties would have been avoided.
In any, case, PKR president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail has all the credentials, why she is being denied the post of MB? I would appreciate if former Perlis mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin addresses that aspect as well.
Versey: The ‘Kajang Move’ enables us to know more about the true character of politicians that we ordinary voters don't normally have the opportunity to get to know.
Now, we have a better gauge of who are the more principled politicians and who are the pretenders or hypocrites.
Honestly, I take it as a blessing in disguise. It gives PKR a chance to purge the unprincipled politicians who have no respect for those who voted them into office and those who care more for themselves than the welfare of the people and to disband those hypocrites/liars with hidden agenda.
Regardless of what is the final outcome, when the dust is settled, hopefully PKR will come out to be a more solidified party whose coalition parties would truly share a common vision and goal.
Hplooi: Correct, the ‘Kajang Move’ is a failure. But not just for PKR. It also shows particularly the failure of PAS, the failure of institutions and I think many more.
Umno, despite feeling smug over this episode, should however reflect that it may also constitute some failure on their part. Chew on that.
The question is, depending on which side of the fence you stride, you may interpret the outcome of 'Kajang' (which incidentally has yet to be concluded though the end-game is possibly in sight) as "negative-negative" (the detractors) or "positive-negative" (the apologists).
Pemerhati: The Kajang move certainly was not a failure as it revealed well before the next elections how treacherous, crooked and untrustworthy the current PAS leadership is.
Now PKR and DAP will have to seriously reassess its relationship with PAS and take corrective action to ensure that they do not get stabbed in the back again by people like Abdul Hadi Awang and his ulamas.
The Kajang Move, which was necessitated because Khalid had supposedly become an Umno lackey, also revealed the dictatorial power of the minority, crooked and corrupt Umno as it was able to quickly convict Anwar for sodomy and subsequently got the Selangor sultan to create havoc and act unconstitutionally by not immediately appointing Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the MB, even though she had the support of the majority of assemblypersons.
The various people passing negative comments on the Kajang move may have some ulterior motive or would be trying to please PM Najib Abdul Razak and Umno so that they would get some crumbs from them.
Vijay47: Asri has always been seen as a moderate intelligent person.
If we had been lapping up gleefully all the things he said that we agreed with, then we should be as open to accept his statements which may not be too comfortable with us. I must agree the Kajang taste, satay or not, has turned a bit rancid.
Voice: Asri might have his point but I don't agree totally. I opine the Kajang move has resulted in revealing the real face of PAS and was able to bring those PAS leaders who are hostile and who cannot work with other Pakatan coalition partners to the surface.
Now I know why Pakatan is still not able to capture Putrajaya. It’s because the blood clot has not been fully removed from the body.
Sodom Me Sodom You: It is not a failure but a great leap in our politics. History favours the bold. Anwar was courageous enough to attempt the coup but Umno as usual was so afraid that they resorted to the usual crap and thought they thwarted it.
But look at it now. Yes, we're having problems. But better to have these problems now and work them out before we go into the next big battle.
Ferdtan: No, Asri, the Kajang move will be remembered for its hasty 'justice' by Umno’s court for its super-quick conviction of Anwar's sodomy case in record time, taking only takes two days to sentence him to jail for five years. Anwar was the original proposed candidate for the Kajang seat.
No, it is more of the treachery of justice and not the satay that you are talking about. When it comes to Anwar and his family, all hell will break loose with BN making sure obstacles are put up.
It is always Anwar's fault. Missing MH370 plane and the Sulu terrorists attack in Sabah were two typical examples as alluded by the mainstream media.
UMYES: The Kajang Move brings out the worst and the best. It should also be known as a cleansing move.
