Former Perlis mufti Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin in a cynical comment, said Kajang will no longer be remembered for its satay, as it has now carried the meaning of 'failure'.

He was referring to the current crisis in the Selangor administration, and the ‘Kajang move’ .

“Back then, when you mention Kajang, you can imagine the deliciousness of a type of food, which is satay Kajang.

“But today, when Kajang is mentioned, I don't know why I imagine a failure," he said mockingly in his Facebook page yesterday.

Hundreds of comments

The status received almost 4,000 “likes” in the first two hours after it was posted and also received hundreds of comments which included criticism from the page’s fans.

A Facebook user by the name ‘Musafir Lalu’ said that PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim’s struggle had not failed as it had not been completed.

‘Ahmad Toha Samsudin’ who was in agreement with ‘Musafir Lalu’ stated that victory would be achieved with the Kajang Move.

“Only those who are short-sighted will say that it has been a failure when in fact history dictates that in every failure, victory awaits.”

Meanwhile, several Facebook users defended Mohd Asri’s statement.

Nasrul Hakim said: “I support Dr Maza (Asri). He is not selective in his criticism, reprimanding whoever that is in the wrong.”

Mohd Khairil was sarcastic in his remarks, saying that whenever Mohd Asri hits out at the other side (BN), many will praise him.

“But when he criticises Pakatan, you condemn him,” he said.
