PARLIAMENT Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak should resign as the finance minister and hand the portfolio to somebody experienced who can handle the position on a full time basis, PAS Kuala Terengganu MP Raja Kamarul Bahrin Shah Raja Ahmad said today.
Referring to the letter sent former finance minister Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah sent to Parliament last week criticising the government's handling of the economy, Raja Kamarul ( right ) said Najib must give way to a person who can give the position a "full time attention".
"At the moment, the concentration of power seems to lie with the PM," he said.
"Even our rice is imported, and that, too, is monopolised," he said.
Last week, Ku Li wrote a letter to parliamentarians expressing his fear over the country's economic outlook.
Urging deferment of the Goods and Services Tax, he said the government is not "listening" to the concerns of the people as Budget 2015 "belittles" what needs urgent attention.
