PARLIAMENT The government is not tapping the communication lines of any member of the public or that of any politician, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Nancy Shukri said today.

In a brief written answer in Parliament to Julian Tan Kok Ping (DAP-Stampin), Nancy also said tapping is only done through communication lines and not through email or post.

Tan had demanded that the government reveal number of people it is tapping this time, after his previous question on the matter in June was not answered with numbers he wanted.

"Based on latest records, tapping is only done through telephone lines and no tapping is done through email or posts," Nancy ( left ) said.

"Based on our statistics, no communication tapping involving any politicians or the public is being done," she added in the two paragraph answer.

Tan had asked for a breakdown on how many people had been tapped since 1998 to this year, including politicians.
