Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali has refused to comment on talk that the state intends to recover RM2.5 million allegedly given to the previous menteri besar's aides.

"Let me get the details first," he said briefly when reporters questioned him on the matter today.

Yesterday, Seri Andalas state assemblyperson Xavier Jayakumar tweeted that the Selangor government had allegedly instructed Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) to recover the quantum from Abdul Khalid Ibrahim's ( left ) former aides.

When contacted yesterday, Xavier told Malaysiakini that he had received the information from a Selangor executive council member who was directed to recover the amount.

The sum was purportedly paid as remuneration to seven of Khalid's aides, which include MBI chief executive officer Faekah Husin and Khalid's former press secretary Arfa'eza Abdul Aziz.

Both Faekah and Arfa'eza however have remained mum on the issue, with attempts to contact them having failed.

Malaysiakini 's attempts to elicit a response from the state excos have also been unsuccessful.
