Perkasa vice-president Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman has told Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak to stop lying to the rakyat and to "do his work" instead.

Abdul Rashid, who was also a former Election Commission (EC) chairperson, said that a report which states that Malaysians were earning around RM24,000 per capita was a "big lie".

"And the government proudly tells Malaysians this. It (the report) is a big lie.

"I want to tell Najib,  you don't have to lie to the rakyat, just do your work.

"And he should tell his people, tell all these Malay leaders to be honest and not be in power only. They should do what they are able to do," said Abdul Rashid (right ) in his speech at the Perkasa annual general meeting today.

He even claimed that having worked under Najib then, the PM respects him even until today.

"He knows that I sometimes speak frankly in front of him. If I don't like something, I would say it.

"I said that if he wanted to sack me, do it, if he wanted to demote me, do it.

"But I was not demoted and instead promoted. Maybe, so that I won't be slighted (untuk ambil hati).”

Meanwhile, citing Umno's annual general meeting, Abdul Rashid said every year the party comes out with all kinds of resolutions.

However, most of them goes to the dustbin and do not get implemented, he said.

‘All talk only’

Explaining his reason for joining Perkasa, he said he joined the right wing group because he can slam (memaki) people.

"And they cannot retort because I have no baggage, I do not steal others' money."

He added that he expected them (Umno) to do something for the Malays and Islam.

"They don't do anything although they say they do. In the hall, it's all talk only, when they come out of the hall, it's a different matter."

Claiming that Barisan Nasional was scared of losing, Abdul Rashid said the coalition believes that they have lost.

"I don't know which fortune teller told them that they have lost. I said that they have not lost, but in their death throes," he said.

As such, he said in order to change the government, Perkasa should become a political party.

"Let Perkasa administer the country," he said.
