PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang and DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng are scheduled to attend Pakatan Rakyat's leadership council meeting - the first in more than four months - this Sunday.

This was announced by PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim during a ceramah in Kemaman, Terengganu last night.

The meeting is being held two days ahead of the Federal Court's decision on Anwar's appeal against his conviction and five-year jail sentence for sodomy that was handed down by the Court of Appeal last year.

 
According to Bernama , Anwar said the meeting would discuss, among others, the future direction of Pakaatan should the Federal Court dismiss his appeal.
 
"I leave it to the wisdom of my friends on the next course of action, depending on the decision (of the Federal Court)," he said.
 
Anwar said the Sunday meeting would also discuss the resolution of outstanding issues among the three parties.
 
PAS and DAP has been at odds over the former's decision to press for the implementation of hudud law in Kelantan and the decision not to back PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as Selangor menteri besar.
 
DAP has accused PAS of acting unilaterally and that the implementation of hudud law was not agreed upon by Pakatan's leadership.
 
However, PAS retorted that DAP too had acted unilaterally by pushing for the implementation of local government elections in Penang and Selangor.
 
The top leadership of both parties have been trading barbs for months, despite mounting demands by state-level leaders from all three parties calling for a ceasefire.
