YOURSAY 'Strife between conservatives and progressives becoming more open.'

Pro-Hadi group wages war on party 'traitors'

Ferdtan: In any quarrel among families we can determine who is the weaker party by the noise/commotion they create in public - the higher the decibels the more desperate they are.

The majority of the elected members of the PAS central committee (CC) are not with president Abdul Hadi Awang. So we can see how fearful Hadi’s supporters are when they have to come out in open to criticise the supposed members of the opposing faction.

Does this show of force by Hadi’s supporters means that they have come to realise that imminent action is about to be taken against the rogue president who in the past months, made unilateral decisions hurting unity of the Pakatan coalition as he bypassed his elected CC members?

We hope so for the sake of two-party system. Hadi is beyond control. The opposing ‘progressive’ faction had been quiet so long (using patience as strategy) letting Hadi made more mistakes to offend the majority grassroots PAS members seen to be more pro-Pakatan than pro-Umno.

This is exactly what Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad said in the Selangor MB Khalid Ibrahim’s fiasco, that his party had given rope for him to ”hang himself.” Now it is PAS president Hadi’s turn to be given enough rope.

Jiminy Qrikert: Yes, PAS should sack Hatta Ramli, Mat Sabu, Khalid Samad and anyone who is regarded as part of the Erdogans. The sooner the better, so that come GE14, there won't be this group of pretentious liberals trying to convince Pakatan supporters that PAS is not an extremist Islamic party.

Ketuanan Rakyat: PAS members should ensure Hadi and his supporters are rejected by the party ASAP for the benefit of majority of Malaysians, irrespective of race and religion.

Proarte: It is about time DAP spells out clearly what the terms for cooperation are. The 'Common Manifesto' must leave no wriggle room for Islamists to bring up 'hudud, Islamic state' as a 'core aspiration'.

To date DAP and PKR have allowed Pakatan to be undermined by Anwar in his typical, unprincipled manner by allowing PAS to continue to have as its 'core aspiration' hudud and syariah law, described by Anwar rather ridiculously as an example of 'democracy in Pakatan'.

The result is betrayal of the common manifesto and collaboration with Umno to make hudud a reality. Thank you Anwar. Such pathetic moral cowardice and duplicity must never be allowed to taint Pakatan.

Before we all join bandwagons, we must make sure the bandwagons are not going in the same direction. Has PASMa given a categorical undertaking that hudud law and syariah will not be an 'aspiration' as they are committed to abide by the Malaysian constitution and will focus on a welfare state?

Will they uphold the secular nature of our constitution as defined by Salleh Abas, the former Lord President in a landmark judgment?

If the Erdogans and PASMa are going to take a leaf out of Anwar Ibrahim's book, then God help us. There must be no 'all things to all men' modus operandi.

Civil society, the media must get clear and honest answers out of them. No more equivocation, duplicity or downright lies as this will be not be tolerated anymore. DAP must not be taken for a ride yet again.

Lamps: We all know Hadi is the real traitor to Pakatan. He must be defeated and sent into oblivion.

The Analyser: What have I been telling you? The religious fundamentalists will always win. There is no such thing as moderate Islam.

Fair Play: Commenter 'The Analyser' said, “There is no such thing as moderate Islam.” I am not a Muslim, but I have many, many Muslim friends.

Islam is moderate like any other mainstream religion around the world. The only problem with Islam in this country is that the fundamentalists have hijacked the religion for their own agenda.

Malaysia is only a small Muslim majority nation with some 18 million Muslims. There is no place for fundamentalism here.

Even moderate Muslims would agree. How many of them are fundamentalists? When moderate Muslims start to unite to be counted such as the Eminent 25, surely they will drown out the voice of the minority fundamentalists in our country.

And just take a look at Hadi of PAS. Is he a fundamentalist or just a schoolboy who refuses to attend to his responsibilities?

Starwars: PAS under Hadi is a traitor, a weak party. PAS under Hadi only has Kelantan. PAS under Hadi even lost Terengganu and Kedah.

Even Umno has got a bigger support base among the Malay Muslims - Umno has Perlis, Kedah, Perak, Terengganu, Malacca, Negeri Sembilan, Johor.  Let us all rally behind Mat Sabu and Ramli Hatta. Boycott PAS.  Sack PAS from Pakatan.

Who is PAS to talk about hudud when in fact it is BN who is in power in Malaysia? PAS has no right to talk about hudud until and unless they take over Putrajaya from BN. We need not entertain PAS on hudud because PAS is not the federal government.

The Malay Muslim /Chinese /Indian /Iban /Kadazan /Dusun have all rejected hudud and retained BN as the government. So why is PAS talking about hudud even before winning the election?

The general consensus among the various races is to retain a secular government and PAS has no right to expound on hudud until and unless it comes to power.

What's New: I cannot see how the religious fundamentalists can win come next GE. If the 'progressives' do not tear themselves away from this pack of conservative clods, they will all get their balls roasted. You cheat me once, I am a fool...you think you can cheat me twice, you are bloody fools.

RCZ: I have only this to say. It's happening. The extremists and brainwashed are surfacing and the rakyat can clearly identify them and reject them. Can more surface please and can the liberals tell us clearly who you are and what are your plans? We need to know this before the next general elections. Time is running.

Anonymous #70881335: At this juncture of our country's development, we need leaders who think Malaysian, more country than self, and more outward than inward thinking.

Yes, we need statesmen, not politicians. PAS? Does it fit the bill ? Does Umno?  Do not let one country suffer for the sake of these poor and incompetent leaders.

HOPE: Hadi and the ulama are desperate. They know they cannot stop the younger and sounder minds in PAS from advancing.
