Selangor PAS has urged the state chapters of PKR and DAP to avoid activities organised by Persatuan Ummah Sejahtera Malaysia (PasMa).
In a press release today, state PAS chief Iskandar Ab Samad said having links with PasMa would sour ties within Selangor Pakatan Rakyat.
"We have good ties between Pakatan component parties in Selangor, and it should not be spoiled by the PasMa issue.
"Although individuals have the right to be involved (with PasMa), but do let PAS settle the PasMa issue internally," he added.
PasMa was established last August during the height of crisis within Selangor Pakatan over the choice of the state's menteri besar.
Led by Pengkalan Kundor state assemblyperson Phahrolrazi Zawawi ( right ), who is also the Kedah PAS deputy commissioner, the NGO has been steadily expanding from its base in Kedah.
The group considers itself an ally of Pakatan and has positioned itself as a pressure group to remind PAS of its commitment towards the coalition's supporters, and not just PAS members.
Over the past few months, PasMa has been actively organising forums on current affairs, and was involved in flood relief work in Kelantan.
However, their activities have drawn scorn from the conservative factions within PAS, who claimed that PasMa was designed to undermine the party's ulama leadership.
