Police escorted Lembah Pantai MP Nurul Izzah Anwar to her home where she was briefly allowed to freshen up before her remand hearing.

Nurul was seen leaving the Jinjang police detention centre at 9.20am donning the same baju kurung she wore when she was arrested yesterday.

" Alhamdulillah ... Nurul Izzah is at home now to freshen up before being taken to Dang Wangi police station for her statement to be taken.

"Hope no remand. She's still under arrest. Was just allowed home to freshen up. Leaving for Dang Wangi soon," said her mother, Wan Azizah Wan Ismail on her Facebook page.

However, according to Nurul Izzah's lawyer R Sivarasa, the police were also at her home to collect a copy of her speech which she delivered in Parliament on March 11.

By 11.15am, Nurul Izzah was spotted at the Dang Wangi district police headquarters.

According to Sivarasa ( left in photo ), her statements will be recorded and there will be no remand hearing.

Nurul's was the latest latest dissident to be arrested following protests against the jailing of opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim.

She was arrested yesterday for sedition over her March 11 speech in Parliament. She had read portions of Anwar's speech. Anwar is currently serving a five-year jail sentence in the Sungai Buloh prison.

Her speech saw her condemning the court's decision to jail her father.

However, critics claim that the probe was a breach of laws which provide MPs with legal immunity.

Nurul Izzah was released from police custody at about 12.20pm after her statements were recorded. There was no remand hearing.
