PKR: Gov't overpaid RM109mil for executive jet

The federal government overpaid by at least RM109 million for its purchase of the ACJ320 new executive jet made late last year, PKR claimed today.
PKR secretary general Rafizi Ramli said that the government would have paid RM70 million lower than the current RM465 million it’s paying for a 15-year hire purchase deal, if it bought the jet directly from its previous owner, Air Luther AG, instead of going through Jet Premiere One Malaysia.
On top of that, Jet Premiere One bought the jet from Air Luther AG for a price that was RM39 million higher than the maximum price evaluated for a second-hand ACJ320, which is four years old.
"Not only is the purchase a waste, but it was also done at a cost way higher than the actual market valuation," Rafizi said.
Rafizi ( left ) said that he has the hire purchase deal between the government and Jet Premiere One, but said that he would not be revealing the whole agreement yet.
He also said that the overpaying estimate was a “conservative” one and based on the maximum price valuation of the jet.
He also said that he has details on who owns Jet Premiere One and said he would touch more on the company soon.
