Ishak Ismail, the Umno Lenggeng assemblyperson who was declared a bankrupt by the Seremban High Court, claims his creditor wants to humiliate him.

If Misran Sukadi wanted the balance payment for the RM2 million loan for which he was the guarantor, the businessman would have come to him instead of going to court, he said in Sin Chew Daily today.

The 64-year-old politician said it was obvious that his creditor's intention was to embarrass him instead of collecting the payment.

As the guarantor, Ishak ( right ) has paid off RM1.2 million out of a total of RM2 million borrowed by a contractor who failed to service the loan.

The court had declared the veteran Negri Sembilan Umno leader a bankrupt on Mar 18 after he failed to make payments.

An elected person stands to lose his seat after being declared a bankrupt.

Ishak has said he will apply to set aside the bankruptcy order which he received on Apr 27.

The lawsuit started in 2007. Ishak was declared a bankrupt then, which disqualified him from contesting in the 2008 General Election.

Recalling the bitter experience when his house was auctioned off in 2010, he claimed there was a 'political conspiracy' against him then, as reported by China Press .
