Perkasa, PAS unite for death row Morsi
They usually do not see eye to eye in a number of things, but today, PAS and Malay rights group Perkasa were united in denouncing the death sentence handed down to ousted Egyptian president Mohamed Morsi.
Nevertheless, although they were merely separated by some 50 metres at the Egyptian embassy in Kuala Lumpur today, Perkasa did not make attempts to get near to the PAS group.

Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali said they did not approach the group as Perkasa was not a political party.
Also, by them not merging, more memoranda could be sent to the Egyptian Embassy, he said.
"Even though we have the same aim, Perkasa is not a political party and they did not invite us (to join them).
"If there are two or more groups who send in their memoranda, then more memoranda will be received by the embassy," Ibrahim added.
Myanmar embassy protest too
Perkasa earlier today had also protested in front of the Myanmar embassy ahead of delivering a memorandum to protest the oppression faced by the Rohingyas in Myanmar.
The some 80 protesters brought with them placards bearing the words 'Save the Rohingyas' and 'Stop killing the Rohingyas' among others. Yesterday, PAS had organised a similar protest .
Ibrahim urged Malaysia to sever diplomatic ties with Myanmar and push for its expulsion from Asean due to the unresolved issue of the Rohingyas.
He also suggested that an economic embargo be imposed on Myanmar.
Apart from Asean, countries in the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) were also urged to convene a meeting to solve the problem involving the ethnic minority who have been fleeing their homeland in droves.
“This OIC is like a cat. It refuses to listen to the voice of the people when it should be assisting by providing food for the Rohingyas."
Ibrahim said the public should not be providing donations for the Rohingya refugees landing in Malaysia as help from the OIC would have been sufficient.
“But it seems that we are now beggars when Muslims are usually the ones who give sedekah (alms and donations)," he said.
