In yet another twist to Pakatan Rakyat's internal squabbles, DAP has confirmed that it will not attend the PAS muktamar this year.

DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke said the party will skip the PAS Youth muktamar in Shah Alam today as well as the main one in Kuala Selangor on Thursday.

"Yes, we will be absent. We will also not be present at the main muktamar," he said when contacted by Malaysiakini .

When asked whether their absence would be because of the tenous hudud issue, Loke replied: "No reason."

DAP Youth had cut off ties with their PAS counterpart in March, due to disagreements over hudud law implementation.

DAP's central leadership also did the same with the Islamist party's president Abdul Hadi Awang but said it would still work with other PAS leaders.

At the Youth muktamar today, PKR Youth chief Nik Nazmi Nik Ahmad was seen as present.

Later at a press conference, PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu brushed off the DAP snub.

"It's nothing. Sometimes we miss kenduris (functions) too," he said.

He said he will ask DAP why they were not coming to the muktamar.

PAS Youth Chief Suhaizan Kayat also said that despite problems among the Pakatan youth, they are still united, and that PAS Youth will try to work out a solution.
