Sacked deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin today dismissed speculation that he is teaming up with Dr Mahathir Mohamad against Prime Minister Najib Razak.

"I went to the recent conference on global peace in Bosnia (Herzegovina) to talk on the role of Malaysia in helping Bosnia," he said upon arrival in Kuala Lumpur from Jeddah.

"So, that was the reason I went (Sarajevo)," he said.

The Umno deputy president was asked about both Mahathir and him appearing publicly in Sarajevo on Sept 21 which sparked off speculation that they were joining forces against Najib.

Muhyiddin also said he would respond on the arrest of former Batu Kawan Umno deputy chief Khairuddin Abu Hassan in due time.

"I will give a proper statement at a proper time," he told reporters before leaving the airport with his wife Noraini Abdul Rahman.

He declined to comment when asked if feared being arrested under the Security Measures (Special Measures) Act 2012 (Sosma) as Khairuddin had been.

Muhyiddin, who was removed from cabinet on July 28 for voicing out on 1MDB controversy has been quiet of late.

Khairuddin, who had lodged complaints in Switzerland, France, the UK, Singapore and Hong Kong on the 1MDB affair, was detained for 28 days under Sosma for alleged sabotage against the country.

Muhyiddin was received by some 20 supporters at the airport today who were clad in 'I am not yes man' tee-shirts.

A short prayer for his safe journey home was held upon his arrival at KLIA.

Muhyiddin also refused to comment on foreign media reports which painted the RM2.6 billion donation received by Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak in a negative way.
