It appears Tajuddin can be easily misled

YOURSAY | 'They ask M’sians not to fall for what’s in the social media but it’s they who fell for it.'

Ku Nan: Tajuddin misled by social media, no need for apology

Commentable: It is Umno secretary-general Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor’s (Ku Nan's) brain that is misleading him.

To conclude that this issue is caused by miscommunication is outrageous; never mind the fact that the words uttered by Deputy Agriculture and Agro-based Industry Minister Tajuddin Abdul Rahman were recorded on audio.

But there is also a video/audio recording of the speech by Chinese ambassador Huang Huikang in Petaling Street. Why then did Umno still demand for his apology?

Look, not only Tajuddin offended Chinese Malaysians by his "slap threat" but he also offended Ambassador Huang by insinuating that the 'Godfather' from China would come to their aid.

By using such uncouth words, Tajuddin has overstepped the line of diplomacy, something that he is bound to observe as deputy minister.

A burst of anger does not justify his action, especially so against a diplomatic representative of a country whom Malaysia has made much effort to woo and is depending heavily as a major trading partner.

Umno need not tell Tajuddin to offer an apology for it is up to him to offer it himself. And the public is watching.

Justine Gow: Indeed, if you have done wrong intentionally or unintentionally, you apologise, no matter what the reason is.

Vijay47: Tengku Adnan, Tajuddin, and especially you, PM Najib Razak, you indeed have strange ways to uphold the Malay dignity you were only recently beating your breasts feverishly to protect.

Now you come out with the most shameful of excuses as to why an apology from Tajuddin is not required.

Najib, it must be the height of fashion in Milan to issue hypocritical and ridiculous statements for you seem to have forgotten how you were ranting in appreciation of your red-shirted vermin.

And to complete the trilogy, Adnan says no apology is needed since Tajuddin was, unbelievably, misled by the media. How?

You don't deny he said those words and you now have the cheek to ask, following Tajuddin's warning to slap the Chinese, not to make it into a racial issue.

And to make a bad situation even worse, you somehow suggest that it was all DAP leader Ronnie Liu's fault.

As always, everybody else but Umno is to blame. But one thing is as clear as the Klang River and our skies now, you three deserve one other.

Negarawan: If Tajuddin cannot evaluate any information intelligently and is so easily "misled", how fit is he to lead as a minister?

Hibiscus: Tengku Adnan, your justification for not apologising is clearly to save face for Umno.

Actually you should have kept quiet instead and let Tajuddin explain himself why he had behaved in an uncivilised manner, which clearly show he did not care for the feelings of Chinese Malaysians.

Tajuddin should apologise if he feels that he has said something he should not have said, regardless of whether he said it under the influence of the media or that his boss had instructed him to say it.

This is the mark of a gentleman, don't you think?

BH Yap: Ku Nan is as ridiculous as Tajuddin when he says there is no need for an apology after a mistake has been made.

The thing is, how many rakyat are convinced that Tajuddin was not speaking his mind?

Kuasa Rakyat: What is Ku Nan saying? Such "reaction" is okay since Tajuddin acted in anger because he was "provoked"?

But I though Tajuddin denied that he said those words? Now it appears that he did.

Oh Ya?: How could a rational and seasoned politician be so easily misled by the social media into such an angry outbursts?

Does he look like a misled person when the choice of words used was so cruel and intended to inflict maximum hurt and insult on the Chinese community? If really he was misled, is it so difficult to retract his remarks and apologise?

How could a country that aspires to become a developed country in less than six years be helmed by leaders with such low EQ, and are so arrogant and ‘kurang ajar’?

Time and again, Umno and its leaders are giving these bigots the indulgence which has elevated their bigotry. And time and again, they expect the minority races to swallow it? Is this the way forward in nation building?

CHKS: It doesn't matter if Tajuddin is misled by what or who (it could be likely that he has been misled by you, Ku Nan, or anyone in the Umno), the words that came out from his mouth are his; or you mean to say those words were put into his mouth by some aliens?

Aiyaiyai!: So now it is social media’s fault. What happened to foreign conspiracy theories? But truly, let's just go back to more important business - our falling ringgit and the 1MDB billions and that RM2.6 billion 'donation'.

Relevancy: They ask people not to fall for what’s being circulated by the social media, but it is they who apparently fell for it.

Turvy: Malaysia is a Laurel and Hardy show without the humour. Lot of misunderstanding followed by calls for harmony.

The victim must keep calm, while the slapper earns a pat on his back.

Point taken, Umnoputras can do no wrong, ever
