PAS has agreed to support a vote of no confidence against Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak, said PKR deputy president Azmin Ali.

"This morning PKR, led by president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, held a meeting with PAS.

" Alhamdulillah, on the spirit of togetherness, we have agreed to put forward a motion of no confidence against the prime minister," he told reporters when met after today's Parliament sitting ended.

He said the time and date for the motion will be determined later.

He also claimed Umno and BN lawmakers have approached the opposition regarding the no-confidence vote.

"There are some (who did). But this is strategy, if I tell, then it defeats the (move)," Azmin said.

He added that Umno and BN lawmakers must be brave enough to support the motion.

"I don't want to make any conclusion now but this is the best time for MPs, including from BN, to support this motion, if they believe that the country needs a stronger leadership to restore the confidence of the investors.

"Otherwise, let the public punish them if they decide to condone the situation now. The rakyat will punish them in the next general election," the Selangor Menteri Besar said.

Yesterday, Pakatan agreed that Wan Azizah ( photo ) would file a fresh motion of no confidence against Najib.

Currently, a motion filed by Petaling Jaya Selatan MP Hee Loi Sien is listed as number 27 out of 28 on today's motion paper.
