Don't blame Hadi for PAS ills, says deputy Kelantan MB

PAS’ internal problems are being caused by those who had lost in the party polls, and not president Abdul Hadi Awang, said party vice president Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah.

“Everyone can suggest for the president to be replaced, but are all the problems PAS is facing now the fault of the president?”

“Or is it that the problems are being created by PAS members, particularly those who had lost in this year’s party elections, and not the party president,” the Kelantan deputy menteri besar was reported saying in Sinar Harian today .

In particular, Mohd Amar questioned attacks from former vice president Husam Musa last week claiming Hadi had planned to cooperate with Umno to take over the Selangor government, with the aid of several PKR turncoats.

“I do not know about what he has said, but in the matter relating to the president has he raised it before this?

”Why raise it now, after the muktamar?” he was reported saying.

“By right he should have raised this before the muktamar,” he added.

During the heated muktamar this June, the progressives in the party had been almost completely wiped out from the top leadership, which was seized by the ulama faction headed by Hadi.

While most of the defeated leaders have quit to form Parti Amanah Negara, Husam and Pokok Sena MP Mahfuz Omar are among those who have remained in PAS.

Mohd Amar said he will leave it to the central leadership decide if any action is to be taken against Husam over the attacks.

During the protracted menteri besar crisis last year, then PKR MB Abdul Khalid Ibrahim refused to step down claiming he had the majority support despite both PKR and DAP assemblypersons pledging support for party president Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
