"I am a cast-off."

This was how PAS' Salor assemblyperson Husam Musa started his speech at the dialogue session 'Demo Tanya Ambo Jawab' (You ask, I answer) in Kota Baru last night.

He said he has been quiet about the state of the Kelantan administration for two years, ever since he was sidelined from being appointed into the state executive council.

Husam was a senior exco member under long-serving Kelantan menteri besar, the late Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat.

"For two-and-a-half years I left the state administration on its own, yet I was still considered an enemy.

"So many things have been said against me, including by prominent individuals but I can only accept it," the former PAS vice-president said.

He said the situation worsened when his health faltered, making it difficult for him to perform his duties as assemblyperson.

"All sorts of slander and malicious allegations were hurled at me when I was ill.

"Before I could stand up again, on July 13, I asked (through a Whatsapp group) Kelantan PAS leaders to help me rebut claims that I stole timber from the Ulu Sat forest reserve.

"A week passed and no one responded, other than one person who replied sayind 'Pity you, Datuk'," he said, disappointed.

Husam said he criticises the state administration in a bid to strengthen the government and the party.

"If they can rebut me, then they will become stronger. I am positive that the MB will strengthen his position if he takes my criticism on state administration.

"His position will be stronger and I am confident that he is not a yes man and that he can tell others. 'We cannot do this. Husam has explained it, we should remember what he said'."

He said that he has no intention to topple or sabotage the PAS-led Kelantan government.

"This is my goverment. Some of those in the exco I consider my younger brothers, who know little of how we built this government in 1990.

"In fact, I love the Kelantan government more than anyone here, but this doesn't mean I will allow the betrayal of people's trust," he said.

Husam has been attacked by PAS after he exposed party president Abdul Hadi Awang's proposed a unity government with Umno in Selangor, following the sacking of then MB Abdul Khalid Ibrahim from PKR.

This claim was comfirmed by former PAS deputy commissioner Khalid Samad, who left PAS to join splinter party Parti Amanah Negara.

Husam has also criticised the pay hike for assemblypersons and administration as well as other alleged mismanagement.

This includes state foundation Yayasan Islam Kelantan's (YIK) failure to pay Employees Provident Fund and Tabung Haji contributions to YIK teachers, and rampant logging .
