Kuala Lumpur’s iconic KL Tower took on the colours of the French flag last night to show solidarity following the terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday night.
“To show our concern and support to France, KL Tower has light up with red, blue and white for one minute every hour.
“It will be continuously (displayed) from 12am to 7am,” wrote the management on its official Facebook page.
Similar acts of solidarity were seen around the world.
dpa reported several of London's most famous landmarks were illuminated in red, white and blue to show solidarity with France yesterday evening, while half-mast French and British flags were flown together at Prime Minister David Cameron's London residence.
"The London Eye, Tower Bridge, Wembley Stadium, the National Gallery (are) to be lit up red, white and blue in expression of solidarity with France," Cameron said on an official Twitter account.
"The thoughts of everyone at Wembley Stadium are with the people of France at this extremely difficult time," said a later tweet from the stadium with a photograph of its iconic arch illuminated.
Officials say an international football friendly between England and France will go ahead as scheduled at Wembley on Tuesday despite increased security concerns after Friday's terrorist attacks in Paris.
CNN also reported French colours going up at the Sydney Opera House in Australia, venues in the US, Toronto, Canada and elsewhere in a global show of support.
In the shocking Friday evening blitzkrieg, gunmen and bombers were reported to have attacked restaurants, a concert hall and a sports stadium at locations across the French capital, killing 127 people in a deadly rampage that President Francois Hollande has claimed was the work of the Islamic State (IS).
