Perak's MB Inc denies land approvals to it were not transparent
The Menteri Besar Incorporated (MB Inc) today denied the allegation by Perak DAP adviser Ngeh Koo Ham that land approvals by the state government to the corporation were not transparent.
Its chief executive officer Aminudin Hashim said the allegation by Ngeh had placed the MB Inc in a bad light and had given a misperception to the people of Perak.
"MB Inc has never owned 10,000ha of land as alleged by Ngeh because we only have 2,200ha.
"The allegation has to a certain extent affected the reputation of the MB Inc. We are disappointed with his statement," he told a media conference at the Bangunan Perak Darul Ridzuan in Ipoh today.
He was asked to comment on Ngeh's statement recently which questioned the state government's transparency in awarding land to the MB Inc for the past four years.
Ngeh, who is the assemblyman for Sitiawan, also claimed that his investigation revealed that the state government had approved land application in seven districts, including Perak Tengah, Manjung, Kuala Kangsar, Batang Padang and Lembah Kinta worth billions of ringgit to the corporation.
Aminuddin said the corporation had discussed with its lawyer on what action could be taken against Ngeh.
"The MB Inc is not owned by the Perak menteri besar and is not a political entity. It was created to assist the state government to generate state revenue for the benefit of the people," he added.
