PasMa (Pertubuhan Sejahtera Ummah Malaysia) president Phahrolrazi Zawawi has asked all opposition parties to cease attacking each other and train their guns on BN.

Pahrolrazi said mud-slinging inside the opposition bloc comprising DAP, PKR, PAS and Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) was a waste of time.

“As an NGO which is pro-opposition, we feel the focus should be on BN instead, on issues of corruption within the ruling party,” he said at a press conference in George Town today.

“PAS is not the ruling government, it is only a ruling party in Kelantan. Attacking one another has a negative impact on the opposition bloc,” added the Pengkalan Kundor assemblyperson.

Phahrolrazi was commenting on Amanah's president Mohamed Sabu's concern that ' IS-style' thinking has infiltrated PAS. He was quoted in The Malaysian Insider as urging the authorities to step in.

Phahrolrazi is in Penang to announce PasMa’s state convention in Kepala Batas, which will be held on Dec 5, where the NGO will decide on a resolution on the country’s political developments to be presented to Pakatan Harapan leaders.

Pakatan Harapan leaders have been invited to attend the convention while Amanah vice-president Mujahid Yusof Rawa has confirmed his attendance.

PAS criticised

Other than Amanah, DAP has also been criticising PAS for betraying the opposition. Indeed, PAS recently declared itself as part of the opposition in Penang, where the state government is headed by DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng.

PAS sole assemblyperson Salleh Man (Permatang Pasir) is still a member of the state government as he has pledged support for Lim as chief minister and the Pakatan Harapan administration.

Responding to this, Pharolrazi said PAS must resolve the issue of whether Salleh should remain with the Penang Harapan government, as his party is already in the state's opposition.

He added that Amanah is prepared to step into any post left vacant by PAS. Recently, 1,083 of its members quit the village development and security committees .

“It is only right that PAS members vacate their positions in the state government as they are no longer in the Pakatan Harapan governemnt,” said Phahrolrazi, who is a member of Amanah’s central executive committee.

On whether PasMa will send a candidate to Penang to contest in the coming national polls, which is slated for not later then June 2018, Phahrolrazi said the NGO is willing to work with Pakatan Harapan, and will not bar its members who wish to participate in the polls.

He also urged the Selangor government to decide whether it is a Pakatan Rakyat or Pakatan Harapan government.

“Voters need to be clear on which government they are voting for but we understand that it may take time for Selangor to decide due to the political scenario there, where DAP and PAS cannot see eye to eye, but PKR would prefer to have Pakatan Harapan be inclusive to all,” he added.
