PKR has acknowledged concerns raised by PAS over presence of its leaders at a recent Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) event in Kelantan.

PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli told Malaysiakini that he has received a letter from Kelantan PAS state liaison secretary Che Abdullah Mat Nawi, recording the party's unhappiness with PKR.

"The letter is legitimate and I have received it.

"I am informed (of the concerns) and the matter will be discussed at (PKR) political bureau meeting on Tuesday to decide on our next move," said the Pandan MP.

Rafizi, however, said he was unaware who were the PKR leaders who had attended the event as it is normal for them to attend ceramah sessions.

In the letter that has been uploaded on Facebook , Che Abdullah said the presence of PKR leaders at the Amanah-hosted event could cause "uneasiness" and jeopardise its political ties with PAS.

"The involvement (of PKR leaders with Amanah) is also seen as going against the party's own commitment to maintain good ties with PAS, as indicated during the recent visit from PKR vice-president Dr Shaharuddin Badaruddin to the Kelantan PAS state commissioner," said Che Abdullah, who confirmed with Malaysiakini that he had drafted the letter dated Jan 13.

The Wakaf Baru assemblyperson also expressed hope that PKR will not continue to involve itself with Amanah, in view of sensitivities of PAS supporters in Kelantan.

Since the dissolution of Pakatan Rakyat last year, PAS was left out of the new Pakatan Harapan federal opposition coalition comprising PKR, DAP and Amanah.

The Islamist party has, however, insisted that it would maintain ties with PKR after having declared the other two parties as its enemies.
