Man nabbed for selling police uniform without permit

The police have detained a shop proprietor in connection with the unauthorised sale of police uniforms.

The 33-year-old suspect was picked up at his shop in Taman Perindustrian Saujana Indah in Shah Alam last Saturday.

In a statement today, Shah Alam police chief ACP Shafien Mamat said among others, police uniforms and a variety of police-related equipment were sold at the shop without permit.

He said in the raid, the police seized various items such as handcuffs and integrity logos estimated to be worth about RM1,500.

The case is being investigated under Section 89 of the Police Act 1967.
