Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission special operations director Bahri Mohd Zain lodged a police report against a blog posting by Raja Petra Kamaruddin, alleging “open war” in the anti-graft body.

Raja Petra in a blog posting last week alleged that Bahri is in engaged in an “open and bitter war” with MACC chief commissioner Abu Kassim Mohamed over the RM2.6 billion donation case involving Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Bahri said the blog posting also slandered him by accusing him of being a “DAP agent” who wants to topple the Umno-led government.

“My actions during my time with the MACC were carried out professionally according to laws and regulations and in order to defend its freedom,” Bahri said in a statement, quoted by The Star.

On Sunday, the MACC confirmed the authenticity of a leaked internal memo sent to the commission’s staff by Abu Kassim.

In the memo, Abu Kassim said he would rather resign from his post than attack his officers.

Bahri is under attack by pro-Umno blogs for saying the anti-corruption commission would “appeal” to the attorney-general on the two cases involving Najib.

Attorney-general Apandi Ali last week shut down investigations on the RM2.6 billion donation and RM42 million from state owned SRC International found in Najib’s bank account.

Apandi said there were no elements of corruption, and that the RM2.6 billion was a donation by the Saudi royal family.
