State fatwa councils are getting in the way of women from becoming syariah court judges, laments Syariah Chief Justice Ibrahim Lembut.

Ibrahim said currently only the Federal Territories, Malacca, Perlis, Kelantan and Sabah allow women to sit on the syariah court bench.
