Defence Minister Hishammuddin Hussein has asked critics not to politicise the Chinese envoy's donation to SJKCs in his constituency, saying that he welcomes the donation, as long as there are no strings attached.

Hishammuddin was responding to critics over Chinese ambassador Huang Huikang's donation of RM40,000 to eight Chinese primary schools (SRJK Cina) in his constituency of Sembrong last Sunday.

One of the critics, DAP Kulai MP Teo Nie Ching, has said the donation showed that the foreign envoy knows the predicament of Chinese schools better than “our minister”.
