PARLIAMENT No government officer has been taken to task for allegedly breaching the Official Secrets Act (OSA), said Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Azalina Othman Said.
"Despite complaints, no disciplinary action has been taken against any public servant as there was no proof," she said in written reply to Parliament.
"However, the Public Service Department and the ministry always monitor (them)," she said.
"It is the departments' responsibility to remind its officers not to leak, expose and publish government documents and information to any party who does not need to know (about the matter)," she added.
She was responding to Abdul Rahman Mohamad (BN-Kuala Lipis) who asked what action has been taken by the government against officers who leaked classified information.
Azalina said public servants cannot leak classified information of the government under Section 19(1) of the Public Officers (Conduct and Discipline) Regulation 1993.
They can't reveal classified information orally, in written form or in any other manner, she added.
"On top of that, they are refrained from tarnishing the reputation of public services."
