After S'wak seats fiasco, rakyat losing hope in Pakatan Harapan
YOURSAY | ‘If you can't present a unified front, how to win Putrajaya?’
We've been shortchanged by PKR, DAP cries foul
Mahsuri:
DAP and PKR, your soiled linen is flying like a flag for the whole country to see.
If you cannot even present a unified front in the fight for Sarawak, how can Pakatan Harapan even pretend to be worthy contenders to boot Umno-BN out of Putrajaya?
Kuasa Rakyat: Sarawak Chief Minister Adenan Satem suddenly looks like an angel. PKR will lose big in the peninsula come GE14, unless they get rid of their Umno stripes.
Ace: If PKR is not going to change and be more trustworthy, then it is best they team up with PAS. The two parties can then agree and then break their own promises to their hearts' content.
It will be fair because both won't keep their promises, so it is not one party "playing the other party out".
Anonymous_1394546275: As the saying goes, "All that happens, happens for a greater good". DAP is gaining more trust, at least they will be seen as a party that commits to what it says.
For the longest time, I have had this feeling that PKR deputy president Azmin Ali cannot be trusted.
Proarte: Let the people of Sarawak realise what Pakatan Harapan is all about - a marriage of convenience not based on principle or unity of purpose.
By having separate parties, divisions are reinforced and the focus on a 'common manifesto' is blurred. What we are witnessing is petty, unprincipled party rivalry within Pakatan Harapan, which is a crying shame, given all the rhetoric about 'reformasi'.
What message is PKR sending concerning Pakatan Harapan's unity? What Azmin has sanctioned is pure sabotage. For me, it shows up Pakatan Harapan for what it really is - an unstable coalition of parties who do not care a damn about the rakyat, only for their own individual party interests.
At least multi-cornered fights will reveal the individual strength and support the component parties in Pakatan Harapan really have, and will determine who should contest in future elections - there should be no more free lunches which PKR is currently enjoying.
Spirit of Malaya: DAP should stay cool and withdraw all six from contesting against PKR, which is their coalition partner. Have a "gentleman's agreement" instead so that it will have more bargaining power in the peninsula come GE14.
Let PKR learn a hard and expensive lesson, and come to terms with the reality of politics in Sarawak.
Why? Simple - don't ever think that the 1MDB and RM2.6 billion issue is going to sway the voters over to the opposition as the people of Sarawak couldn't be bothered about them.
The opposition lost its fight once Adenan started being fair to the Chinese and decisively kept Umno out of Sarawak. Meanwhile, the poor Sarawakians are happy with some cash and packets of Maggi mee dished out by the Chinese tycoons.
Pakatan Harapan will be lucky if it could retain at least 50 percent of the seats it has now. Anybody care to argue on that?
Appum: Where is there going to be any ‘harapan’ (hope) with this kind of cooperation between two bigger brothers in the ‘family’. If even in a state election such misbehaviour can happen, what happens come GE14?
Looking at past events, it appears that PKR under Azmin is bent on making things worse. Like sticking to PAS in Selangor, making statements against DAP, nosing into Penang's internal affairs recently. What is he trying to do?
Now he approved going against a pre-election agreement within Harapan. The fact is that PKR is weak in Sarawak, so why is Azmin trying to rock the boat?
The main objective in politics is to win seats - not showing your flags and logo everywhere.
Is it Azmin's sinister plan not to allow DAP to be stronger in Sarawak? Are these comrades worth fighting together with? Which leadership has shown better results and performance - Penang or Selangor?
Hello: PKR, especially Azmin, wants to follow the same route of Umno-BN, in Pakatan Harapan, and that it is first among equals; PKR first, others like DAP and Amanah are equals.
GE14Now!: Well, there you are. BN and Umno are in disarray and DAP and PKR want to slug things out in public. So much for the alternative.
Can you folks not see the bigger picture and work together? Is there no hope for this country?
Malaysia888: Yes, what hope do we Malaysians have? A corrupt government coupled with a dysfunctional opposition.
Discovery: You bunch are a disappointing lot. Now, with BN at its weakest, instead of capitalising on this, you are fighting among yourselves like small kids, and weakening your position even more. Shame on you, PKR and DAP.
Fairplayer: DAP should not have split Batu Kitang. It should just let it go and stayed cool and calm. It's not the end of the world.
Anwar Ibrahim and Wan Azizah Wan Ismail, did you give your blessing, or did Azmin act on his own?
Cocomomo: DAP and PKR should quickly work out their differences. The people of Malaysia need a change but the alternatives do not look viable if there is such bickering in Pakatan Harapan.
The people have been taken for a ride by BN for far too long. Unfortunately, PKR does not seem to offer good leadership. DAP should expand its base and draw more Malaysians of differing backgrounds to it.
Pahatian: It's okay. Just fight it out in these seats. Whoever wins the most votes has more say the next time round.
