PKR secretary-general Rafizi Ramli has promised a new series of exposé starting tomorrow in a bid to convince voters to abandon the ruling coalition in the Sungai Besar and Kuala Kangsar by-elections.

He said this will be a reminder to voters that they have to fork out more to pay for the Goods and Services Tax (GST) imposed by BN, while its leaders continue to live in luxury.

"Tomorrow, I will start a new series of exposé.

"I am sure when the rakyat find out about more excessive wastage, it will convince the rakyat that the only choice to make, is to change the federal government by voting for Pakatan Harapan's candidate," he said in a statement today.

Rafizi said he will release details of the first of his exposé at Pakatan Harapan's election operations centre in Kuala Kangsar.

"This will continue every day until the final days of the campaign," he said.

Polling Day is set for June 18.

Rafizi said the by-elections will be a choice between maintaining an economic system that favours the wealthy, or choosing a coalition that is striving to introduce a pro-people economy.

He said Harapan will abolish GST, introduce subsidies for the needy, and offer quality education at an affordable cost.

Rafizi also criticised former minister in the Prime Minister's Department Wahid Omar who had defended the GST and abolition of subsidies.

"The responsibility of a government is to protect the most vulnerable group by ensuring the economy expands justly, not by slashing allocations for the poor, to pay for the debts of the rich.

"I am opposed to the GST on the same basis. It is tyrannical, as it forces the poor to pay the same tax as the wealthy, to cover a hole left by the elite looting the country's wealth," he said.

He said Wahid's defence of such policies is evidence that as long as BN is in power, the poor will be oppressed.
