"Where can you find a nuclear scientist ? But Umno and PAS said this is DAP's proxy," he tells the crowd.

"He can make nuclear rocket, if you choose him, he will blast Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak with atomic bomb," he jokes.

Echoing this, Perak DAP chief Nga Kor Ming says: "This is the best candidate we sent to Kuala Kangsar".

"If you do not vote for a professor doctor, who are you going to vote? (Are you) going to choose a potato (ubi), a coconut or cow?

"Of course we are going to choose an educated person, smart and internet savvy, like Termizi, (only he) can represent Kuala Kangsar the royal town," he says.

Police arrive after report lodged

11.30PM Taman Seri Emas, Kuala Kangsar: Three police officers arrive at the Harapan ceramah after DAP party workers lodged a report.

Perak DAP's Nga Kor Ming, who is speaking, welcomes the officers.

The policemen ask around for any pictures and videos from the journalists and DAP members.

Earlier, the ceramah was forced to stop twice after a group of young men, who claimed they are local residents, disrupted the ceramah.

They claimed the ceramah has affected the terawih prayers, and turned off their PA system.

EC: Enforcement officers to take action

10.30PM Kuala Lumpur: Election Commission (EC) chairperson Mohd Hashim Abdullah warns parties in the twin by-elections against putting up provocative billboards.

This was after DAP put up billboards in Sungai Besar featuring Sungai Besar Umno chief Jamal Md Yunos calling Chinese pigs as well as the 1MDB scandal.

“There were reports of the installation of campaign materials in the form of billboards that contained allegations with the intention to cause ill feelings and is provocative in nature against a party to influence voters in Sungai Besar.

“This action is irresponsible and goes against campaigning ethics as set up in the Election Offences Act 1954,” he says in a statement.

He adds that the EC’s enforcement officers will take the necessary actions to ensure that the rules are complied with.

He says Section 4A of the Election Offences Act 1954 makes it an offence to spread ill feelings and hostility and carries a jail term of up to five years, a fine of up to RM10,000 or both.

10.15PM Taman Seri Emas, Kuala Kangsar: Former Perak menteri besar Nizar Jamaluddin pokes fun at PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang for using a replica of a giant keris to cut a cake at the PAS muktamar.

Raja Kamarul, who takes the stage later, says the keris should be used in a sacred ceremony.

He jokingly says in future the keris will be used in cutting chili.

Meanwhile, Amanah candidate Ahmad Termizi Ramli says he is ready to win the by-election as everywhere he goes, the people have pledged to support him.

He says he will then decide whether to stay in Kuala Kangsar after polling day.

DAP ceramah resumes after terawih prayers

10PM Taman Seri Emas, Kuala Kangsar: Perak DAP chief Nga Kor Ming alleges that the group of men, who claim they are local residents, are Umno supporters as they came from the nearby BN operation centre.

He urges the voters to reject the gangsterism culture of Umno.

Agreeing, DAP Seremban MP Anthony Loke wants the voters to teach Umno a lesson with their votes.

Loke also says he fails to understand MCA wanita chief Heng Seai Kie’s logic when she said Umno does not represent BN.

“I want to ask her whether Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Deputy Prime Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi represent BN?” he asks.

Earlier today, Heng said the move of Umno minister Azalina Othman Said to put forward PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang’s Private Member’s bill, was not agreed to by BN parties.

She said Umno does not represent BN, and she want the voters to support BN candidate Mastura Mohd Yazid.

“Her logic is crazy, (she is saying) we have to vote for Umno (candidate) to protest Umno,” he says.

Same group of men show up again

9.30PM Taman Seri Emas, Kuala Kangsar: The Pakatan Harapan ceramah is disrupted again when the same group of men show up and turn off the sound system.

“If you want to hold a ceramah, you have to respect the Muslims. They are having their terawih prayers. Stupid.

“Whether you are a YB or not, you have to respect Islam.

“Whether you are from PAS, BN and Amanah, have to respect Islam,” he shouts.

The incident happened when DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke is speaking to a crowd of 300.

This again forced the ceramah to stop for half an hour, until 10pm.

Four men turn off sound system

8.40PM Taman Seri Emas, Kuala Kangsar: Pakatan Harapan's ceramah tonight is forced to stop for 15 minutes after four men complained that the noise affected their prayers.

DAP Aulong state assemblyperson Liow Thye Yih says the men appeared and turned off their sound system.

One of them threatened to destroy the sound system if it was not turned off, says Liow.

“Another man said the ceramah speeches had disrupted their prayers. They asked us to continue only after 10pm,” he adds.

He, however, doubts if the speeches would reach the mosque, which is 750 metres away.

“They are trying to threaten us,” he says.

The incident causes the ceramah to stop for 15 minutes.

The ceramah resumes after turning down the volume of the speeches.

Leow emphasises that they have obtained a permit for the ceramah.

Sports way to woo young Chinese voters

6.45PM, Kg Sungai Haji Dorani, Sungai Besar: Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin says he believes the party is able to attract the support of young Chinese voters in Sekinchan through organising sport activities.

"Even though it will not be easy, we must not surrender. We have organised sporting activities such as basketball and volleyball, to positive response," he says.

The youth and sports minister also goes for a walkabout around the Malay fishing village.

"They want economic opportunities and assistance on issues like enforcement, maritime security...

"If that is what they want, then the best candidate will be the one from the government (BN)," he adds.

Three-cornered fight gives BN edge, opines Mat Taib

5.30PM, Amanah HQ, Sg Besar: Former Selangor Menteri Besar Muhammad Muhammad Taib says the contest in Sungai Besar should be between BN and Pakatan Harapan only.

"Before this I said it should be a straight fight, and PAS should contest against BN.

"But because PAS and the others can't agree on this, and because PAS is becoming friendly with BN, then Harapan had no choice but to field Amanah," Muhammad says when met at the Amanah HQ.

He says the three cornered fight now gives BN an advantage, but believe Amanah has a strong fighting chance.

Heated scenes as anti-BN banners taken down

4.45PM, Bagan Sekinchan: A group of Election Commission officers, policemen and Pakatan Harapan supporters are seen removing several anti-BN banners located at two roundabouts in Sekinchan town.

They readily take down the banners with an image of Umno division chief Jamal Yunos but DAP's Ronnie Liu insists there is nothing wrong with the banners showing an image of Premier Najib Razak and RM2.6 billion.

"What is wrong? There is nothing wrong!" Liu shouts over and over again, to jeers from some 50 BN supporters.

Ronnie later gets into a brief argument with Sekinchan MCA division chief Kek Seng Hooi who accuses DAP of being behind the banners bearing Parti Amanah Negara's logo.

Harapan supporters advise Liu to keep calm while MCA supporters hold back Kek.

After about 15 minutes, Umno Sungai Besar division chief Jamal Yunos arrives in a black Pajero, stopping a few inches away from the billboard. He steps out of the vehicle and tells his supporters not to take matters into their own hands.

"I have never said the quote stated on the banner and I hope people will not fall for this act of provocation," he stresses.

Termizi sees K Kangsar as stepping stone to GE14

8.30am - Kuala Kangsar town: Amanah Kuala Kangsar candidate Ahmad Termizi Ramli and DAP leader Lim Kit Siang run into a group of MCA campaigners at a coffee shop.

Ahmad Termizi tells those at the coffee shop to vote for him, number four on the ballot paper, while the MCA members urge them to vote for number three instead - BN candidate Mastura Mohd Yazid.

This happens when a number of people are taking their breakfast at a kopi tiam forum organised by DAP. The MCA members appear at the same coffee shop to distribute campaign materials, which were politely received by some, but one is seen refusing to do so.

Termizi urges Kuala Kangsar residents to vote for Pakatan Harapan. He describes Kuala Kangsar as a stepping stone to the next general election, and calls on the people not to support corruption.

Meanwhile, MCA Wanita chief Heng Seai Kie is campaigning at the market, located 50 metres away from the coffee shop.
