Here are the key headlines from yesterday you may have missed, in brief.
Umno Youth casts hell notes on DAP
Umno Youth and Malay rights pressure group Gerakan Merah members threw hell notes during their demonstration in front of the DAP headquarters in Kuala Lumpur, to protest Facebook postings allegedly by DAP's Taiping MP Nga Kor Ming, which they said disrespected Islam.
There was pushing and shoving by the protesters, who were upset that police formed a barricade to stop them from entering the party headquarters, and a firecracker was thrown into the basement area.
Nga said he will lodge a police report over the "smear campaign" against him and maintains the postings were made by an unauthorised fan page he is not linked to.
Mahathir-Harapan collaboration?
Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad may return to active politics, with speculation that he might spearhead a new political party comprising former Umno members.
He is due to meet with Pakatan Harapan leaders on Thursday, to discuss possible collaboration, former Batu Kawan Umno vice-chief Khairuddin Abu Hassan said.
Meanwhile, Pakatan Harapan dismissed speculation that sacked deputy prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin may replace PKR president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail as the Opposition Leader in Parliament.
Speaking after a Harapan presidential council meeting yesterday, Wan Azizah said the coalition would do its best to regain people's trust and to avoid clashing with one another, like in Sarawak.
Other Kinibites
Muhyiddin asks if Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak has forgotten his pledge made a year ago, when he urged everyone to wait for the auditor-general's report on 1MDB, in which all would be revealed. The report is still sealed under the Official Secrets Act.
Kedah Menteri Besar Ahmad Bashah Md Hanipah brushes off suggestions that Kedah should halt logging to preserve catchment areas and avert a prolonged water crisis. He said there is no need to teach the government how to do its job.
Public Accounts Committee chairperson Hasan Arifin sends a letter of demand to PKR Youth information chief Lee Chean Chung for alleging that Hasan earned at least RM321,000 in a land deal. Lee said he will not apologise.
