A police report has been lodged against owners of four Facebook accounts for alleged defamation of Pahang’s Sultan Ahmad Shah and Rosmah Mansor, wife of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Rosmah’s assistant, Rizal Mansor, confirmed the matter in his own Facebook posting today.

“A police report has been lodged against parties who uploaded and shared the photos with intention to shame, mock and slander DYMM Sultan Pahang and the prime minister’s wife.

“In relation to that, this matter has been handed over to the authorities to investigate and take appropriate action. Please be informed,” said Rizal.

He also uploaded a copy of the police report lodged by Mohd Azli Jaffar at the Klang district station this morning.

According to the police report, the four Facebook accounts named were Johor Bangkit, Ratu Naga, Suara Rakyat and Albert Monteluez.

“I strongly condemn the insolent and immoral actions by the individuals named (in the report) and I hope that the police, Home Ministry and the Malaysian Communications Multimedia Commission would take appropriate actions to arrest them for sharing slander with intentions to tarnish image of the royal institutions,” said Mohd Azli, who identified himself as president of Pertubuhan Mesra Setiakawan Malaysia.

The report was lodged against social media postings based on several photographs taken during Najib’s annual Hari Raya open house function in Pekan, Pahang, on Saturday.

Based on the photographs, the postings which had gone viral implied that Rosmah had inappropriately cozied up to the sultan.
