Malaysia will celebrate its 59th independence day on Aug 31 and by now, all Malaysians should know the meaning of loyalty and reject colonialism in all forms, said a pro-Umno portal.

"Unfortunately, on July 30, a month before Merdeka, an attempt to bring in foreign intervention was exposed," said MyKMU. net.

This intervention, it claimed, was done through a "false report" alleging that 1MDB was involved in money laundering in the United States.

"Someone called Malaysian Official 1 (MO1) purportedly stole 1MDB money and passed it to four individuals named in the civil suits filed by the (US) Department of Justice (DOJ) for money laundering activities.

"When investigations in this country involving both the government and opposition did not show that a single sen of 1MDB money was stolen, certain quarters led by those who are worshippers of (Dr) Mahathir (Mohamad) obtained information from god knows what source that billions of 1MDB funds were stolen and put into MO1's personal accounts.

"There is a donation from Saudi Arabia, but there is no money stolen from 1MDB. Is there proof, documents or pen drives (to substantiate the allegation)?" it added.

Whatever the case, MyKMU warned that foreign intervention had begun and Malaysians must reject this neo-colonialism.

The DOJ court filings mentioned 'Malaysian Official 1' 36 times, and previously MyKMU said the MO1 was Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

The DOJ had filed the suits to seize assets which it claimed was procured with funds misappropriated from 1MDB.

It named Najib's stepson Riza Aziz and businessman Jho Low, who is said to be close to the prime minister’s family.

Since news of the court filings broke, Najib has come under renewed pressure to relinquish his post while his supporters have cast aspersion on the DOJ’s actions.

The prime minister has denied abusing public funds for personal gain and blamed such allegations on those conspiring to topple him from power.

Attorney-general Mohamad Apandi Ali has also cleared the prime minister of any wrongdoing.

Recently, Najib himself urged Muslim leaders to reject foreign intervention and those who, "out of political motivation", call for foreign powers to intervene in their own countries.
