Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL) top officers will update their asset declaration documents this Friday, to facilitate the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission's (MACC) investigation, said mayor Mhd Amin Nordin Abd Aziz.

This is after a senior DBKL official was arrested for suspected graft last week.

"We are serious in ensuring all DBKL staff are free from corruption...

"This is not something new, in fact we do this twice a year.

"DBKL will not hesitate in cooperating with the MACC to ensure the investigation is transparent and fair," he was quoted as saying by Utusan Malaysia .

He said those found guilty of graft would be terminated.

"We will wait for the outcome of the investigation," he added.

Yesterday, Federal Territories Minister Tengku Adnan Mansor said asset declarations could not be done publicly to avoid officers and family members from being targets of kidnapping or robbery.

He said this was why ministers declare their assets to the prime minister, while civil servants declare their assets to the chief secretary.

However, Pandan MP Rafizi Ramli said he faced no criminal threats since declaring his assets publicly last year.
