PARLIAMENT Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak may not like the opposition walking out on his Budget 2017 speech, but he too doesn't seem to provide a good example.

This was pointed out by opposition leader Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail (PKR-Permatang Pauh) during her speech during the debate on Budget 2017 today.

She said that when her husband Anwar Ibrahim was finance minister, not once did he miss the speech by the opposition leader, who is always the first person to debate the budget speech.

"We were chastised for 'leaving' the House, but today Pekan (Najib) did not even come to the House," she said.

Last Friday, most lawmakers on the opposition bench walked out while during Najib's speech after a series of repeated jabs from the prime minister.

Najib said that those who walked out had embarrassed themselves and turned their backs on the public.
