Rizal Mansor, aide to the prime minister's wife Rosmah Mansor, wants polls watchdog Bersih to stop lying to the rakyat.

With regard to statement by Bersih top leaders Maria Chin and Shahrul Aman Mohd Saari that the Bersih rallies are free of violence, Rizal said this was nothing but an apparent lie.

"Their words are nothing but hypocrisy as it has been proven how previous Bersih rallies were marred by violent tragedies.

"Their denials cannot cover up the past sins of Bersih participants against the country's peace and harmony," he said in a statement today.
