UMNO AGM PAS is still Umno's enemy in Kelantan, despite perceptions that indicate otherwise on the national stage, says an Umno delegate.

"Even though, nationally, the party that rules Kelantan (PAS) appears to be friendly with Umno, the reality is - like it or not - they are clear political enemies for those of us in Kelantan," Gua Musang Umno delegate Mohd Syahbuddin Hashim said.

PAS and Umno have become friendlier after the the Islamic party had a fallout with DAP, which led to the demise of the opposition pact, the former Pakatan Rakyat.

PAS leaders insisted they were still against Umno and were committed to toppling the BN government.

However, Umno president and Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak announced yesterday that the government would be taking over PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang's proposed Private Member's Bill to amend the Syariah Courts (Criminal Jurisdiction) Act.

Both leaders were also expected to appear at a rally this Sunday, to protest the genocide of the Rohingyas in Myanmar.

But this olive branch, Syahbuddin said, did not cancel out Kelantan PAS' many prayers for BN's defeat.

Kelantan Umno, he said, was currently formulating plans to capture the state, and had reached out to the youths in the state.

Najib had said that the general election was coming soon, but he did not indicate any date.
